Before you close your first production run

Everything people ask before starting their own brand.

We gathered the 55 questions that reach our WhatsApp most often, answered straight by the people who do the manufacturing. If yours is not here, just ask us.

Starting from scratch

Do I need a CNPJ to produce with you?

Yes. We sell to registered companies: a CNPJ (the Brazilian company tax ID) with a state tax registration, or the equivalent company registration in your country. If yours is not set up that way yet, it does not stop the conversation. Our team guides you through it during the project, and it only has to be resolved by the time we produce.

I don't have a CNPJ yet. Can we still start the conversation?

You can. The conversation asks for no paperwork at all. You tell us what you want to launch, our team understands the project and already points to a line, a volume and the next steps. Getting registered runs in parallel and has to be done before production. Plenty of clients opened their company along the way.

Can I buy as an individual?

No. We sell to registered companies, so the order has to be placed under the company. What you can do as an individual is everything that comes first: talk, define the product, the line and the volume. By the time the company is open, the project is already designed and production can start.

I'm a MEI, Brazil's micro entrepreneur status. Does my CNPJ work for producing with you?

It depends on how you are registered. To produce, we need a CNPJ with a state tax registration. Whether your MEI meets that or not is for a specialist to confirm: send your CNPJ number on WhatsApp before you change anything and you get the answer in the conversation.

Do I need to understand chemistry or cosmetics to have my own brand?

No. Formulation is our lab's job, with an in-house technical manager overseeing production. You choose from more than 300 hair care formulas ready to personalize, or ask for one developed from scratch. Then you test the sample and say what you want different. Your part is the brand and the customer.

I don't have a salon, a store or a distribution business. Can I still have my own brand?

You can. Private label does not require a physical location. It works for people who serve clients in a salon and just as well for people who sell online, through a catalog or to their own audience on social media. What changes is which line fits your channel, and a specialist helps you pick that in the briefing.

I've never launched a product in my life. Where do I start?

With a conversation. You say what you want to sell and to whom, and a specialist matches that against the lines in the catalog. People starting from scratch usually come in through the everyday hair care lines. You leave with a recommended line, a volume, a lead time and a quote, and you decide without rushing.

How long does it take from the first conversation to the product in my hands?

It depends on two sides. Yours: approving the formula, the sample and the label. Ours: on average 75 business days of manufacturing for portfolio formulas and around 90 days for a formula developed from scratch, counted after the approvals. The lead time for the stage with ANVISA, Brazil's health regulatory agency, varies by product category, and a specialist is the one who gives you that number.

Formula and development

Do I need a finished formula to get started?

No. There are more than 300 hair care formulas ready to personalize with your brand. You tell us what you want to launch and who you sell to, and a specialist points out which ones make sense. If you prefer, you can also develop your own from scratch or produce from a formula that is already yours.

I already have my own formula. Do you manufacture from it?

We do, and it stays yours. Our lab runs the technical analysis and manufacturing follows the guidelines of your formulation. Confidentiality and exclusivity are set out in the contract. Bring the formula to the first conversation and a specialist reviews feasibility with the technical team.

Do I get a sample before producing at scale?

You do. You test every product in your own hands before approving anything, and production at scale only starts after your go-ahead. If you already sell something similar, you can compare the two side by side and decide with the product on the table, not on paper.

What if the sample doesn't come out the way I pictured it?

We adjust it and send it again. That is what the sample is for: you point out what you want different, the lab works on it and a new sample comes to you. Nothing goes into production without your approval.

I want a product that isn't in the catalog. Can it be developed from scratch?

It can, within what the factory produces: hair, body and fragrance. We do not make hair color, makeup, nail polish or facial skincare. Beyond that, the lab develops the formula with you. The lead time is around 90 days for a formula from scratch, and on average 75 business days for portfolio formulas.

Is the formula exclusive to my brand?

It depends where it comes from. A formula developed specifically for your project follows exclusivity rules set out in the contract. A formula from our portfolio stays available to other clients, and it is the fastest path from briefing to production. A specialist explains both conditions before you commit.

What about confidentiality for the formula I bring?

It goes in the contract. Confidentiality and exclusivity terms are put in writing, along with the rest of the manufacturing agreement. A formula that arrives here from your hands stays with your brand. Want to understand those terms before you send your formulation? Talk to a specialist on WhatsApp.

What the factory makes

What exactly do you manufacture?

We have ready lines in four areas: professional hair care, professional hair chemistry, everyday hair care, and body and fragrance. In practice, you can build an entire brand inside this factory, from the backwash shampoo to the perfume. In the catalog every line is open, with its products and technical data sheet.

Do you make hair color, makeup, nail polish or facial skincare?

No. None of the four. Our portfolio is hair, body and fragrance. In hair chemistry, we make only the complements to the coloring process: bleaching powder and cream developers. So the color itself comes from another manufacturer, but the developer that goes into the mix can carry your brand.

Do you produce for salons or for the end customer?

Both. There are professional lines, made for the salon to use in service: sealing, repair, backwash and lightening chemistry. And there are everyday lines, which reach the end customer. Plenty of brands launch one of each and serve salons and consumers under the same identity.

Can I launch more than one line in the same project?

You can, and it is common. Many brands launch two or three lines together, under the same visual identity. The minimum order is per product, from 100 units, so a specialist builds the mix with you looking at what your brand needs on the shelf from the first batch.

Are there products in resale size and in professional size?

Both exist. The professional lines are designed for salon use, in larger volumes, like the backwash gallon and the sealing and repair bottle. The everyday lines come in shelf size, designed for the end customer, like the shampoo and the toning mask. In either case, the packaging size is defined together with you.

Do you make perfume and a body line as well?

We do. Three lines: body splash, body cream and perfumes, all with imported fragrance essences. And perfume here is really perfume, not diluted cologne. If your brand produces more than one of them, you can repeat the fragrance across them and create a signature scent.

Can you make a fragrance similar to a famous perfume?

No. Reproducing another brand's fragrance does not happen here, in any line. What we do is understand the olfactory direction you want and build an identity of your own for your brand, chosen from our fragrance range or developed to order. You get to smell the options before you decide.

What I want to launch isn't in the catalog. Do you develop it?

It depends what it is. If it is hair, body or fragrance, the lab develops the formula from scratch with you. If it is hair color, makeup, nail polish or facial skincare, no. Message us on WhatsApp and tell us what you have in mind. A specialist confirms whether the factory produces it and what the lab can do.

Packaging, label and design

Does the product leave with the Belzark brand on the label?

No. Nothing leaves here with our name on the front. The label carries your brand: name, colors and layout defined by you. The catalog photos use a demo label, just so you can see the packaging. The name on your customer's shelf is yours, not the factory's.

Do I need to hire a designer for the label?

You don't. Our in-house design team creates the label and the box with your brand's identity. If you already have a designer or finished artwork, we take that too: we validate it technically before production. Either way, the label does not hold up your launch.

I already have a visual identity. Do you use mine?

We do. You send the logo, the colors and the artwork you already use, and our design team applies it to the label and the box, within the regulatory requirements. If the artwork needs a technical adjustment, we flag it before producing. Your brand still looks like yours.

Can I use the packaging I already have?

You can. We accept the packaging you already use, as long as our technical manager approves it first. The check is whether it meets the factory's technical guidelines for production. If it does not pass, you find out before investing in the bottle, not after.

Can I choose the type of packaging?

You can. Every line has our standard packaging, in the format shown on its page, ready to receive your label. If you prefer another type of packaging, you bring yours and we validate it technically before producing. On WhatsApp, a specialist reviews packaging together with the formula and the label.

Does the label come to me before production?

It does. The label is defined by you: name, colors and layout. Our design team builds the layout, and it only goes to production once it is closed with you. If you want to change a color, a product name or where the logo sits, that is the moment to say so.

Who writes the mandatory information on the label?

We do. Since ANVISA notification or registration is b.elzark's responsibility, our design team builds the label within the regulatory requirements. You take care of the name, the colors and the brand message. The tedious legal text is not your problem.

Can I change the label on the next production run?

You can. Brands reposition, change logos, adjust the line. When that happens, our design team redoes the label and the box for the next production run. Just ask for the change before closing the order, because the label has to be defined for production to start.

ANVISA and regulatory

Who handles ANVISA: me or you?

We do. Notification or registration of the products made here is b.elzark's responsibility, with the cost itemized in the quote. You do not need to understand regulatory work to have your own brand. You take care of your brand and your sales, the red tape stays with us.

Do I have to file anything with ANVISA myself?

No. The whole process for products made here runs through our team, start to finish. On your side, what has to be in order is the CNPJ with a state tax registration. If there is anything unusual in your case, a specialist flags it in the conversation, before you commit to anything.

How long does the ANVISA part take?

It depends on how the product is classified. A lower risk cosmetic goes through notification, the faster route. A product that requires deeper assessment goes through registration, and that process is longer. Our technical team confirms which of the two your product falls under and gives you the lead time before you decide what to launch.

What is the difference between a notified product and a registered product?

It changes the route inside ANVISA and, with it, the lead time. A lower risk product goes through notification, the faster route. A product that requires deeper assessment goes through registration, which takes longer. What determines this is the product category, and we handle that classification in your project.

How much does the ANVISA part cost?

There is no list price. It depends on the product category and on what you are going to launch. The regulatory cost is itemized in the quote, along with formula, packaging, label and manufacturing. You see every item before deciding anything.

Is the product held under my CNPJ or under yours?

The brand is yours, always. Technical and regulatory responsibility for what leaves this factory is b.elzark's, and that is what takes the red tape off your plate. Which CNPJ the registration sits under in your case is for a specialist to confirm, inside the project, before any production. Just ask on WhatsApp.

Do you have a technical manager on staff?

We do, and in-house. Our technical manager follows production here and signs off on the formula and on any packaging you bring. Someone from our own team, in the same place your product is made. You do not need to hire a chemist to have your brand.

Minimum order, lead times and production

What is the minimum order to produce with you?

From 100 units per product. It is a minimum designed so you can validate your brand without betting everything at once, and it works for someone launching a first item as well as for someone already selling. If you want to design your mix, talk to a specialist on WhatsApp.

Are the 100 units per product, or can I add up different items?

Per product. Each item in your project has its own production run, its own formula and its own label, so the minimum applies to each one. If you want to launch a line with three items, that is 100 units of each. A specialist maps this out with you before the quote.

How long does my production run take to be ready?

On average 75 business days for formulas from our portfolio and around 90 days for formulas developed from scratch, after the approvals. If your launch has a set date, say so in the first conversation. A specialist checks whether the lead time fits your date before you commit to anything.

When does that lead time start counting?

After the approvals. The production clock starts when you approve the sample and the label is defined. The time for samples and adjustments before that varies with your project, and a specialist builds the full schedule with you in the first conversation.

Is production really yours, or do you pass it to another factory?

It is ours, 100%. The factory is in Elisiário, in the interior of São Paulo, and formula, sample, label, regulatory and manufacturing all happen inside the same structure, with our own technical manager overseeing it. Here, your project is not handed to third parties at every stage: it is always the same team taking care of it.

My volume is large. Can you handle it?

We can. The industrial plant in Elisiário has diversified equipment and infrastructure for small and large quantities, and it has already produced more than 200 brands in Brazil and abroad. Bring your volume to the conversation: a specialist checks capacity and schedule before any commitment.

How does delivery work?

Production leaves our factory in Elisiário, in the interior of São Paulo, and shipping is arranged with a specialist. The details change with your address, the volume and the type of packaging, so that part is settled case by case. Give your delivery address in the first conversation so a specialist can factor it in.

I've produced with you once. How does a reorder work?

You do not start over. Formula, label and packaging are already defined and approved in your project, so the conversation goes straight to the new order. Production follows the same lead times, and a specialist confirms the delivery date when you close the reorder.

Quote, payment and support

How much does it cost to produce with you?

It depends on what you are launching. The price changes with the line, the formula, the volume and the packaging you choose. There is no single price list, because each of those combinations changes the cost of the batch. Tell us on WhatsApp what you want to produce and we build the quote, item by item.

What makes the price go up or down?

Four things, mainly: the line you choose, the formula (from the portfolio or developed from scratch), the quantity per product and the packaging. Putting several items into the same production run usually makes the project more viable than manufacturing a single product on its own. A specialist shows you those combinations before you commit.

How does payment work?

50% up front and 50% when the products ship. You do not pay the full amount before seeing anything: production starts with the down payment, and the second part only happens when the products are leaving here for you. The terms are recorded in the quote.

Does the quote already include ANVISA?

It does. Notification or registration of your products is b.elzark's responsibility, and that cost appears itemized in the quote, along with the other items. You do not find out about that bill later, and you do not need to hire anyone on the outside to handle the regulatory side.

How do I ask for a quote? What do I need to have on hand?

Message us on WhatsApp. It helps to arrive with three things: what you want to launch, who you sell to and a rough quantity per product. With that, a specialist builds the project and comes back with the quote. If it is not all defined yet, the conversation is exactly what defines it.

Is there any cost to talk or to receive the quote?

No. Talking to a specialist and receiving the quote costs nothing and commits you to nothing. You say what you want to produce, you get the numbers and you decide in your own time. Anything that involves a cost appears itemized in the quote, before you approve any stage.

Who will I be dealing with during the project?

One team follows your project from briefing to delivery, with a direct contact. You are not passed from department to department at every stage, because formula, design, regulatory and manufacturing all happen inside the same factory. When you need an answer, you talk to someone who knows your case.

I'm not based in São Paulo. Do you serve my region?

We do. The factory is in Elisiário, in the interior of São Paulo, and more than 200 brands have come out of here, selling in Brazil and beyond. Commercial support happens over WhatsApp, from briefing to delivery, so being somewhere else does not change the process. A specialist works out the delivery details with you.

Still have a question this page didn't answer?

Ask and we answer. The person on the other end knows formula, lead time, packaging and regulatory, so you will not get a canned reply. No commitment and no cost.
